Our Roots & Wings Campaign
Our Roots connect us firmly to the Oblate charism inspired by Saint Eugene de Mazenod more than 200 years ago in Southern France. This charism is one of hospitality and welcome to all; an essential missionary call to others. At the same time, we accept a special emphasis on community. We are working hard with our Oblates to live this call in a meaningful and broadly accepting way at Queen’s House, a tranquil setting alongside the beautiful Saskatchewan River in the heart of Saskatoon.
Our Wings serve as a metaphor for everything that we are doing as a Queen’s House community to be of service. We rely on the guidance and faithful care of our Oblates as we make every effort to extend hospitality through the events, programs, and other happenings for, in and with our extended community.
The Goals of our Roots & Wings Campaign:
The goal of this campaign is to attain $100,000 over the next 2 years as a match to the financial support that we are currently receiving from our Oblate Lacombe Canada province through their practical and expressed support for retreat ministry. This Oblate financial support assists us with our work in programming and in retreat ministry. The funds that we collect through Roots & Wings will assist us with the ongoing repairs, upgrading and maintenance work of our facility, technology, sound and infrastructure needs. We are encouraged by the expression of support from Oblate leadership for retreat ministry well into the future.
We humbly invite you to be part of our Roots & Wings Campaign by contributing to the mission and ministry of Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre. Together we are contributing to Queens’ House being all it is and can be for those who need and seek us. Please refer to the information in this brochure as to how you can be of practical support. We are most grateful for your care, prayer and support. May God bless!
