Please Give Generously... $50 for 50 more years!
Dear friends & patrons,
Another year has passed and Queen's House has completed our celebration of fifty years of service for and with the people of God. We want to thank all of our patrons and donors for their generous contributions of prayer and financial support that made our fiftieth year such a hopeful sign for the future. As we move into this new year, despite the economic difficulties we find ourselves in together, we have confidence in God’s providence and your continued support for our ministry to continue to thrive.
We reach out in trust to ask for your financial help today. Please give generously - $50 or more each year is a small way to make a huge difference. Give as you are able. With your contribution and partnership this Oblate retreat ministry will live long into the future.
As you can see in this letter and in this Program Guide, Queen’s House offers unique gifts: sacred space, a place of prayer and worship, of healing and of replenishing the soul. At the heart of our ministry is to live our mission of hospitality and evangelization, welcoming everyone to our home away from home.
Please make time to fill out the attached envelope. We are grateful for your donation, large or small and “we always mention you in our prayers and thank God for you all, and constantly remember before God how you have shown your faith in action, worked for love and persevered through hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1Thess:2-3
Messages of Support
"Our Archdiocese of Keewatin-The Pas is especially grateful for your hospitality during our diocesan Study Days. Your presence and ministry is invaluable for events that benefit us such as Returning To Spirit, the Aboriginal Stream of the Lay Formation program and Twelve Step retreats. May the Lord continue to bless your ministry to all who seek personal healing and spiritual support from this haven on the prairies."
Most Rev Sylvain Lavoie, OMI
Archbishop, Keewatin-The Pas
"Our life of faith, like our physical life, is in constant need of renewal and growth. Queen's House Retreat and Renewal Centre is an oasis where all of this happens. All who enter Queen’s House and taste its spirit come away with renewed energy and life for the journey. This oasis, under the auspices of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and the directorship of the laity, deserves our moral and financial support."
Most Rev Gerald Wiesner, OMI

The Unique Gift of Retreat & Renewal Ministry
Retreats & Workshops
Whether taking in a Twelve Step retreat, seasonal Advent or Lenten retreat, a couple’s retreat, a retreat for caregivers, a private retreat, or workshops on self-growth, self-awareness, ministry and liturgical development, people from all walks of life experience the gift of fresh vision and renewal of spirit for fullness of life.
Spiritual Direction Formation
A team of trained personnel journey with people seeking to become Spiritual Companions for others in their communities. The participants gather one weekend monthly, over a period of two years. In this time they acquire skills of listening, affirming, giving feedback, encouraging and spiritual direction, and gain the many tools for assisting others to grow in self-awareness, methods of prayer, discernment and healing.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Directors are trained, experienced and available to meet with individuals desiring a companion in growing awareness of God’s presence and action in their lives. Spiritual Directors listen, encourage, support and assist in uncovering the obvious in our lives and in realising that everyday events are the means by which God reaches us, accompanies us, transforms us.
Special Events
Every year Queen’s House endeavours to invite special facilitators/presenters who are outstanding and noted in their field, ie. Authors of Christian spirituality, theology, scripture, eco-spirituality, the new cosmology, prayer or other areas for self-awareness and human development. These specialists provide retreats and workshops to inform, challenge, educate and deepen our journeys of faith.
Creative Expression & Spiritual Growth
A variety of artistic mediums are taught through workshops and monthly Day Away with Art retreats for developing breadth and depth of creative expression as part of a growing spiritual journey.
Returning to Spirit: Residential School Healing & Reconciliation
This three part workshop gives the gift of healing to church and aboriginal peoples. Healing those who were part of the residential school experience, from the long-term effects of shame and all forms of abuse, and healing the generationally passed on divisive effects of the residential school legacy, this workshop brings both groups together for a reconciliation experience that is powerfully transformational for all.
Grief & Holistic Healing
For persons in grief Queen’s House offers healing programs with professional counsellors and annual “New Beginnings Retreats” for the separated, widowed and divorced. Other means, ie. Mitzvah, Reflexology, Reiki and Art Therapy, are also unique gifts provided for holistic healing and growth.
Nourishing Ecumenical Spirituality
Each month, Queen’s House staff host retreats, workshops and events that promote spiritually ecumenical gatherings. The monthly Taizé Prayer for Christian Unity, A Day Away and Day Away with Art Retreats, Spiritual Direction Formation day workshops open to the public, and the Annual Scripturefest and Noon Prayer for Christian Unity are some examples of the broad, ecumenical spirit Queen’s House strives for.
