Spiritual Direction Formation Program
Sep 2012-Jul 2014
The goal of this program is to help prepare participants for the ministry of Spiritual Direction. Participants commit to one weekend monthly for ten months of each year. The program includes a six day silent Ignatian retreat at the beginning of the second year. The following are core areas for training interested persons in the art of Spiritual Direction.

Personal Development
Spiritualities of Other Religious Traditions
Prayer & Discernment
Biblical Spirituality
Stages of Faith
History of Christian Spiritualities
Contemporary Movements & Spiritualities
Practicum:
A supervised experience of spiritual direction with the exception of the opening weekend, each weekend will generally begin on Friday at 7:30pm and end on Sunday at 4pm. There will be input and times for processing through reflection, journaling, supervision and sharing.
Pre-requisites:
1. Experience of ONE of the following:
30 day directed retreat or Spiritual Formation in Daily Life
5 to 8 day directed retreat
2. Experience of ongoing Spiritual Direction
