Dear Friends and Benefactors

“we always mention you in our prayers and thank God for you all, and constantly remember before God how you have shown your faith in action, worked for love and persevered through hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ”  (1Thess:2-3)

For almost 60 years Queen’s House has been an Oblate Ministry in Saskatoon serving and enhancing the spiritual needs of people in Saskatoon, the province and beyond.  Oblate hospitality has been supported by your prayer, volunteering, financial gifting and participating in our programs.  We are grateful for your support and realise that we could not sustain this ministry without you.

As we move toward our diamond anniversary, we acknowledge the challenge of financial difficulties, yet we are confident in Divine Providence and your continued support for this vital ministry.

Fundraising at Queen’s House is divided into two distinct categories; donations/campaigns and special events.  Annually we sponsor and host four main events: our Spring Fling Lottery, the Oblate Scramble Golf Tournament, the Bike-a-thon and our Gala Dinner.  Although these events are designed to generate resources, they are meant to increase our friendship base, introducing  new people to Queen’s House and to build community.  Campaigns are focused on funding our spiritual programs as well as the larger and more urgent maintenance needs.  Please take time to visit our website to read about our special events and campaigns.

Our hope and prayer is that Queen’s House will continue to be a priority consideration in your planned giving.  We invite you to participate in any and all special events and programs you may find beneficial.   All gifts to Queen’s House are receipted for income tax purposes (over $10.).  All benefactors are remembered in prayer at our Eucharistic celebrations.  We also include any of your specific intentions – please contact us to express your request.

As you know there are many different forms of giving; regular donations,  planned giving,  wills and bequests.  If you have any questions about making a donation or about any of our particular needs, please contact the development office.  Please give as you are able. With your contribution and partnership, this Oblate retreat ministry will live long into the future.  Thank you in advance for your generous and on-going support.

Messages of Support

“Our life of faith, like our physical life, is in constant need of renewal and growth. Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre is an oasis where all of this happens. All who enter Queen’s House and taste its spirit come away with renewed energy and life for the journey. This oasis, under the auspices of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and the directorship of the laity, deserves our moral and financial support.”
Most Rev Gerald Wiesner, OMI

The Oblate charism is characterized by the welcoming hospitality of Jesus.  Queen’s House extends this hospitality beyond the doors of our churches providing a meeting place and sacred space for all members of our community.  We are especially grateful for the ecumenical outreach which Queen’s House offers and embodies.  In this respect and in many others, we are blessed to count Queen’s House, its staff and the Oblates among our partners in Catholic ministry in the Diocese of Saskatoon.
